Toker Tunes

Thievery Corporation is a recent interest of mine. I started getting very into lounge music once I started frequenting lounges. Thievery actually owns a couple lounges in the DC area: Eighteenth Street Lounge and Local 16 on U st. Great places to check out if you’re ever in the area.

This intro of this song actually reminds me exactly of another great song which I will post tomorrow.

Verve remixed consistently produces quality tracks that seem perfect for that lounge environment that’s perfect for toking. Weed music is an art and these albums are always on point. Most of them are classic jazz tracks that are remixed by contemporary DJs and electronic artists. You’ll recognize this song as the one that sublime remade along with a slew of other artists. “Summertime and the livin is easy…”

Easily my favorite song of the moment. BoomBox is a band that I just found out about only a couple weeks ago from my friend who is a music genius. You know those guys that literally know everything there is to know about all the music you’ve never heard before? He’ll have his own blog soon enough. This song album is just amazing. It literally is just one of the coolest things i’ve listened to in a long time. Check em out I’ll post more tracks from them later. No better way to kick off May.

I can’t get over the sound of the cello or whatever large string instrument is being played in the background. This song just does it for me in so many ways while blazed. True classic.
