The Postal Service – We Will Become Silhouettes

The Postal Service is what effectively sent me off into independent music. Before I heard them I listened to mostly mainstream things that were heard on the radio or anything my friends sent me. Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello (of DNTEL) created a sound that resonated with me in a way that you can only listen and reflect on. I chose this song just because I heard it recently in the trailer for Funny People with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen… which I personally think looks mildly entertaining… if that. But Funny People also happens to be the name of the coffee shop where I smoked for the first time when I went to Amsterdam. The latter outweighs.

Zero 7 – In the Waiting Line

This was an instant classic popularized by the movie Garden State. Paired with the hi speed filming of a party scene this one was a drug tune to begin with. Zero 7 has a really soothing sound that I can really appreciate but I wouldn’t listen to their whole album in a sitting. But they can inject a smooth relaxation into any playlist.

This is like my all time favorite stoner song.  This song came to me in the winter of 2005 I believe and I just fell in love with it because I was listening to a lot of Ben Gibbard, Death Cab and Postal Service.  Sit back, relax, close your eyes and smoke.
