Postal service is and always will be one of my all time favorite musical projects.
Postal Service
The Postal Service – (This is The Postal Service’s Mix of) The Dream of Evan and Chan (with DNTEL)
Just heard this one for the first time in a long time on my iPod. A little more house feel but still a really great mix of a really great track by a really great band. What I wouldn’t give to see these guys ever play a live show. The beginning of this song is supposed to sound like static, do not attempt to adjust your grooveshark 🙂
DNTEL – (This is) the Dream of Evan and Chan (Superpitcher Kompakt Remix)
This is another version of that original hit The Dream of Evan and Chan. This is a great remix of the song that’s fit for summer time driving. Also very satisfyingly long.
The Postal Service – The Dream of Evan and Chan (Barbara Morganstern Remix)
This is a really trippy track and always sits well with a good contemplative and vegetative high 🙂 One of those songs that either you get it or you dont.
The Postal Service – We Will Become Silhouettes
The Postal Service is what effectively sent me off into independent music. Before I heard them I listened to mostly mainstream things that were heard on the radio or anything my friends sent me. Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello (of DNTEL) created a sound that resonated with me in a way that you can only listen and reflect on. I chose this song just because I heard it recently in the trailer for Funny People with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen… which I personally think looks mildly entertaining… if that. But Funny People also happens to be the name of the coffee shop where I smoked for the first time when I went to Amsterdam. The latter outweighs.
Styrofoam f. Ben Gibbard – Couches in Alleys
This is like my all time favorite stoner song. This song came to me in the winter of 2005 I believe and I just fell in love with it because I was listening to a lot of Ben Gibbard, Death Cab and Postal Service. Sit back, relax, close your eyes and smoke.
